Located in the Rec Cen Multi-Activity Court (M.A.C.), the Adventure Climbing Center (ACC) is UCSB’s indoor climbing center. Not only is it a beautiful work of art, but it is also a very challenging training facility. The ACC offers a dedicated bouldering section, a 30 foot main wall, top rope climbing, lead bolts, belay ledge, and three crack features.
The club atmosphere allows climbers to train, share techniques, exercise, meet new friends, and plan weekend outings to the rocks. Harnesses or climbing shoes are available to rent, but using the facility is free for students and gym members!
Before You Climb
Climbing at the ACC requires a Rec Cen Membership, Day Pass, or Current UCSB Student status.
An ACC employee will show you the basics if it’s your first time climbing.
If you are under the age of 18, you will need a parent to sign our waiver. You can download our waiver here.
ACC hours are not the same as Recreation Center hours. Please refer to our hours page for up-to-date hours.

Interested in working with us? ACC employs Desk Staff that assume the role of a "vertical lifeguard." They are responsible for supervising climbers' safety, checking in climbers, managing paperwork, and tending to the general upkeep of the wall. Essentially, wall staff perform similar duties a lifeguard would at the pool, except they work at a climbing wall. We also employ a number of indoor climbing instructors and route setters.
